Charleston, SC -
Experts say the upcoming hurricane season is expected to be more severe than usual. And while planning ahead is best, a local group of volunteers is trying to plan ahead for those in need - the disabled.

Operation Evacuation is a campaign comprised of several local organizations. Its goal is to make sure Charleston County's 59,000 disabled citizens have proper transportation in case of an emergency.

How it works is those with a disability call in to the campaign and tell the volunteer their disability and what type of assistance theyd need in an emergency. Operation Evacuation volunteer, John Fulton, says the disabled are often overlooked in emergency situations. "
