Eleven weeks and two serious storms after Hurricane Katrina hit, Adopt-a-City organizers in Austin hope residents here havent forgotten about the survivors.

Representatives from the City of Austin, Austin Medical Center, service clubs and churches announced Wednesday that theyll be working to help the some 20,000 residents in the city of Wiggins and Stone County, Miss.

Pastor Glenn Monson of Our Saviors Lutheran Church proposed adopting a city at an Austin City Council meeting not long after the disaster. He had been invited to speak about the interfaith relief effort that followed Austins 2004 flood."
